This session and location still gives me the chills. Kyla and Thomas have a connection that is so pure and real that you can’t help but smile when you’re around them.
We started the day by meeting up on the side of the road off Highway 1 where we took a path down towards the ocean in search of McWay falls. The hike is only a short quarter mile but so many people miss this hidden gem driving past Big Sur. It was such a sight to see and would highly recommend looking up the coordinates to go visit it.
There was a fence blocking viewers from getting any closer and a rock wall preventing me from moving an further back. So I did what any photographer would do—I (awkwardly) scaled the wall and got my footing in order to take shots of them from above! Hey, anything for the shot right?
We the took a little trail that led into a gorgeous forested area. It was actually harder than it looks to access this spot. The trail was so steep and muddy, we were sliding and sinking the entire way up! We also climbed on top of a giant tree stump, which was must have been hundreds of years old judging by the amount of tree rings.
We then drove up the coast until we reached Pfeiffer Beach just as the sky blessed us with the most gorgeous golden light. We climbed rocks, got our feet soaked, and ran away from waves and had a blast! The fact that every single person was staring at us as we finished up our beach shots didn’t phase Kyla and Thomas. We may have very well been the only people out there that day. <3
